| 1988 LSC "Annie" Acquired April 10, 2009 Completely Original |

In January, 2010, This 1988 basket case was about to be "thrown away". Kat and I rescued the car and here, it is being unloaded from the wrecker. Our most aggressive undertaking was about to take place. The project was initially named "The Thing". Months later, after the installation of a T5WC transmission, the name was permanently changed to "Shifty". |

| This car had been abused, neglected, and basically trashed by the previous owners, but it had promise. Most people would have parted it out, but Kat and I saw the potential, so we started by cleaning up the filth and debris and getting the engine running which seemed to have survived the neglect quite well. A choice was made to salvage the car, and in as much as the transmission was blown, a manual transmission was found and installed. Following are some snippets of "Shifty's resurrection. |

| With a working transmission in place, some seat time was logged and the car performed very well. A decision was made to continue. Much of the "Micky Mousing" by the previous owners was systematically eliminated and after months of daily work, the interior was finely addressed. The green (yes, GREEN) door panels were dyed, seats replaced and shredded headliner was replaced, all in our driveway; All by Kat and myself. |

With the addition of seats, steering wheel, GPS, relocation of the cruise buttons to the shifter console, upgraded audio with both CD and MP3 capability, replacement headliner and "A" pillar upholstery, it was finely safe to drive the car without a has-mat team to decontaminate you upon exit. The car was actually fun to drive, but it seemed that with the "sports car feel", the suspension needed to be brought up to the performance level. Return to home page |
